Q: What is the SUN Equinox Heating System

A: The SUN Equinox System is a heating system developed by Solar Usage Now and Rotex Australia. The system features the Rotex Sanicube along with the Quiteside ODW a solar panel can also be attached in which case the SUN Equinox takes advantage of the Apricus Solar Panel for it’s design and great product liability.

Q: Wait a minute, If this system uses the Rotex Sanicube why is it not called the Rotex Heating System

A: The Rotex Heating System uses a Rotex Heating Unit and A Rotex Solaris Solar Panel. The SUN Equinox Heating System uses a Quiteside ODW and an Apricus Solar Panel.

Q: Can you tell me about Rotex.

A: Rotex Heating systems in located in Germany. They have been around for 30 years.

Q: When will my tank rust out?

A: Never, our ROTEX Sanicube tank is made entirely of plastic high impact resistant polypropylene (PP) with foam insulation.

Q: Will my tank drip water from a pressure relief valve?

A: NO. Our ROTEX Sanicube tank is an “unpressurised” tank. It does not have a pressure relief valve.

Q: Do I shower in the water that has been heated directly by the gas heater?

A: NO. The ROTEX Sanicube tank is a combination of hot water storage tank and an instantaneous heater. This means that the actual heat is not stored in the domestic hot water itself, but in the unpressurized storage tank water which is clearly separated from it.

This ensures that the ROTEX Sanicube consistently provides hygienic hot water.

This storage tank water is filled once at commissioning time and serves only for heat storage. It is never exchanged or consumed.

Q: Can I add solar to my SUN Equinox system?

A: YES. The ROTEX Sanicube is perfectly suited for solar input. This can provide solar input to both domestic hot water and hydronic space heating from within the ROTEX Sanicube.

Q: What products does SUN Equinox use?

A: Domestic products from SUN Equinox include hot water packages, pool heating and hydronic heating equipment.

Q: What are my choices of a heat exchanger for my home?

A: SUN Equinox’s come in capacities of 79 Gallons and 132 Gallons. They also can be linked together to produce just the right amount of capacity for your needs.
